For the Cordaid Country office in Central African Republic**,** Cordaid is looking for a Logistics Manager
Introduction
In the Central African Republic, Cordaid is currently running programs in Bangui (the headoffice) and in Damara, Bouar, Bozoum, Bocaranga, Bangassou, Bossangoa, Alindao, Berberati and Mobaye where Cordaid has sub-offices. Cordaid CAR has about 150 employees in the country.
The Logistics and Procurement Department plays a central role in the approach program of Cordaid by supporting humanitarian and development work and enabling the successful implementation of programs and projects.
Position and responsibility
The logistics manager, as Head of the Logistic department, is responsible for managing the security of the mission. He is also responsible for the logistics of the country office, its 9 sub-offices and its programs in a cost-effective and responsible manner.
He / she will be supervised by the Director Country Office in CAR and will report directly to him. He / she supervises local staff engaged in the area of their responsibilities.
General objective of the posting
Coordination of all logistical activities and mission security to provide the best support for the programs.
Specific objectives
Supply Chain
Establish contacts with suppliers, carriers, relevant government authorities and other Cordaid partners. Establishes and maintains a structured supply chain of high quality materials needed for offices and programs.
Transport and Storage
Organizes the transportation and storage of materials, keeps as well as profitable use as the security of the goods.
Contract Management / Supplier Agreements Negotiate and maintain service level agreements with suppliers to ensure cost-effective delivery of high quality goods or services at the right time and in the right place. Anticipate deviations from standards and manage suppliers.
Logistics Administration and Reports
Ensures that all agreements and any other relevant logistics administration are up-to-date, complete and reliable, so as to easily provide accurate reporting information.
Collection of logistics information and reports on results, specificities and possible deviations according to the required reporting standards, providing solutions to minimize the impact of deviations.
Staff management
Directs staff in accordance with Cordaid's management style and social policy, focused on productivity, employee development and satisfaction. Ensures efficient use of resources and controls the quality of work.
Qualifications
• Experience, understanding and skills in security management in conflict areas;
• Knowledge of logistics, business or public administration or other academically relevant subject;
• Knowledge of project management, international cooperation with local partners;
• At least 5 years of work with the INGOs on the level of coordination of logistics and security management in the project countries;
• Strong analytical, writing, coaching and problem-solving skills;
• Knowledge of the mission and objectives of Cordaid programs, security policy and regulations would be an asset;
• Social skills to foster a culture of safety among staff and visitors, negotiate prices and realize the benefits of cooperation;
• Writing skills to formulate unambiguous updates to the Safety Plan
• Strong analytical, writing, coaching and problem-solving skills;
• Knowledge of the mission and objectives of Cordaid programs, security policy and regulations would be an asset;
• Social skills to foster a culture of safety among staff and visitors, negotiate prices and realize the benefits of cooperation;
• Drafting skills to clearly formulate updates to the National Security Plan, standard operating procedures and logistics contracts / agreements;
• Excellent proficiency in both languages, French and English.
Specifics of station
He / she will be based in Bangui in the head office of Cordaid CAR. He / she will go to the sub-offices in CAR as necessary for strengthening security and logistics management, training and monitoring. This is a non-accompanied posting
Contract information
The contract period is for 6 months starting as soon as possible, with the intention to extend for a longer period.
